Caustic Words

Topic: AngryPoetry

The more technology advances it seems,
the less we are able to communicate.
You are famous for saying, "I will be home
within the hour", and still you are hours late.
You fly through the day and then" touch down"
in the local bar to have a beer or three.
I thought I could "touch up" what was once
a little problem but now you are a stranger to
me.
The eyes that once caressed me now look
at me with contempt and the abusive words
you spend on me are ones you cannot redeem.
They spatter in my face, like a caustic substance, disfiguring my self esteem.
Then you leave me with tears that have begun
to etch a path in my face, my heart beaten
black and blue.
You will return to find me gone, because
you have drained my heart of any love
it once held for you.
Alone, you will find yourself to be the worst
company to keep and the flames of your own
private hell will be ignited.
One last thing, if any honor could be found
in bastardry, then you sir would surely be
knighted.

Oooooo veeeerrry nasty.

Once again your command of language shines through but so does your vulnerability.

This is an incredibly good write. You may be vulnerable and have a loving nature but as the saying goes "hell hath no fury like..... etc. etc."

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
