Quiet no more

Contributed by hope on Thursday, 9th October 2003 @ 06:53:48 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I will not be silent
I will not be quiet anymore
My heart feels injustice
And it will not be, anymore
My words will be spoken
Uncomfortable, they may be
I will speak the truth
And people will think differently, of you
I’ve carried this for too long
And I’m giving it all to you
I will not feel guilt or shame
For you are the one to blame
I did not ask for any of this
But soon I will be free from all of it
My heart aches for the life that you’ve lead
How you need god’s deliverance
You no longer have control on me
I have so much ahead of me
And no longer will this stop me

I just need to ask
What gave you the right?
To think that my body was here for you
You used me in every way
And made me think it was all ok
I tried to pretend that you did nothing wrong
And carried the burden all on my own
You filled my heart with disgust
And made me think that this was love

Wow...good for you to finally say something. I can't even imagine how utterly disturbing having to live through something like that must have been. Kudos to you...you will always have a fan.

It is great news that you are finally speaking out. I know that it can take a lone time to speak out about something so awful. I am sorry for what you have been through, yet so proud that you are standing up for yourself and staying strong. I won't say I understand exactly how you are feeling because I wasn't abused my a family member, just someone I didn't know, and it only took two weeks to speak out about it, but the only reason I said anything was because a friend at the time threatened me that if I didn't say anything then he would. But anyway, if you ever need to talk then just pm me and I will be happy to talk with you.

Hey... I understand your other poem now. You're an awesoem person to get over that. And to feel sorry for that person... Wow.
Take care.
David
