Hair of sunlight gold
bright eyes of azure blue
a mama's heart was sold
a mama paid her dues
fingers so delicatley long
smiles brighter than light
sang her silly songs
flew her imaginary kites
matter of fact simple ways
hyper little giggles
on her the smiles stayed
all of her would wiggle
so many smart inquiries
constantly a chatter
could write so many diaries
she reminded me of the mad hatter
here for one brief moment
a day in someone's time
thankful for the endowment
grateful she was mine
happy little girl
every moment to the end
into my life she whirled
from the gardens and back again
she's faerie dust and feathers
friendship, tea and lace
she flies freely without tethers
somewhere in between space
forgive this mama of her reverie
for she hasn't any clue
there's many bats within her belfrey
and grief hasn't taught her what to do
every day she's missing a child
first born, gone and all the same
her loving turned to mild
she can be one crazy dame
because all she has to remember
are bits and pieces here or there
if she can just get past November
then she'll function past a stare
sunlight golden kisses
hugs to last a day
all of that she misses
she's an hour past sanity's stay
way off in the distance
if she tries so very hard
an image in an instant
of a courageous child unmarred
a garden full of sunshine
a bench to sit a spell
she's no longer mine
from this place I can tell
for she's got hair of sunlight gold
and radiant eyes of azure blue
to a mother's heart she was sold
because a mother's soul was due

Tears, tears and gentle hugs, to bear this pain is the hardest, for you I send one thousand flowers and sunshine thru and thru,
cause I know your little daughter's watching,
and she's waiting there for you, Bless you bunches, and may your heart know their are many beside you, Love ya Val |
