VERSE ONE
My mind is sleeping somewhere cold
Lost in secret introspection
Its nether regions sealed with locks
There for my protection
But if those locks were opened
And my dark thoughts were set free
If I could gaze into my own soul
What twisted things would I see?
REFRAIN:
As darkest night swallows the sun
My thoughts of joy and love are gone
As cold dread slowly takes hold
My mind guards its inner sanctum
Like a cryptkeeper
Burying my darkest thoughts in a tomb of flesh.
VERSE TWO:
As I lay there rotting
In the graveyard of my mind
I stand at the gateway of my brain
Unsure of what I’ll find.
I open the gate and step inside
And I survey the cold, grey vault
And I think all the devestation I see
Is probably my fault.
REFRAIN
BRIDGE:
Though he’s always guarded my darkest thoughts
The cryptkeeper’s getting’ old
And now I feel death and destruction rising inside me
I know he’s lost control….
REFRAIN 2X
END.
