Awakening

Awakening

I want to write new memories
Of the way we love these days
Create for us new happy times
Our hearts entwined always

To be the girl who’s in your dreams
The one who lasts through time
And as we’re sleeping tangled up
You’ll still be the man in mine

Build the life we’ve always wished
With love the reigning force
Where time is spent with just we two
As all the rest has run it’s course

We’ve crossed the line of middle age
It’s our time of golden years
The things that once got in our way
Are now our conquered fears

So take my hand and come with me
To the place saved in our soul
Where we can share that love affair
Of the life we placed on hold
