Saint Judas

On my knees I pray, "Forgive me I've sinned."
My words accompanied by a lone violin
A sparrow swoops down and robs my communion
As death approaches I don't expect a reunion
The word is with me and I am the word too
And Judas Iscariot was allowed to kiss you?
"GOD ARE YOU LISTENING?" I scream to the clouds
"AM I SPECIAL OR JUST ONE IN THE CROWD?"
My words hang silently ringing through my brain.
And later I will write this and I'll remember the pain.
For every hole in my faith a patch has been sewn.
Yet now I concede once more that I'm alone.
