open your mouth and drown

Contributed by Cancer on Monday, 6th October 2003 @ 09:53:01 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

i will come for you, my sheep
and lead you to the sea
follow me all the way down
open up your mouth and drown

fill you lungs with liquid bliss
feel the burning in your chest
submit to insistent undertow
open up your mouth and drown

don't be frightened, don't be scared
i'm behind you all the way
and i'll still be standing on the shore
when you are all swept away

against your skin
inside your mouth
you struggle weakly
and cry out
you flail and wail
to no avail
every knee was bowed
and every savior failed

wet splatter of cattle blood
a mural of agony on the wall
and i stood back and just laughed
as i watched you fall
the panic in your eyes
your struggle's feeble desperation
preyed on by a false messiah
preaching pleasing sermons of obliteration

there is more than one way to fall
but, only one way down
follow your shepherd to the sea
open your mouth and DROWN

Sounds like a poke at the Bible I must admit I liked this the image of sheep drowning made me smile and laugh. I liked this as always.
