Christmas!

It's a sign of summer gone,
When they say "wont be long,"
Surely they are having a laugh,
Oh no! Soon be Christmas!
It may look damn good on TV,
A festive time full of glee,
But everyone stuffed in front of telly,
Two odd socks, a really funny smelly?
When we were kids we enjoyed,
Unwrapped in haste to find the toys,
But now much older I've no heart,
Burnt spuds and a motley jam tart.
I'd much prefer a sunny beach,
With a little lady, what a peach,
We'd share ice cream from a tub,
For Christmas she can give me back a rub..
