Dark Poet

Contributed by SinfullyTwisted on Monday, 6th October 2003 @ 01:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Does it ever make you weep, dark poet?
To see my shattered soul wander lost in your eyes
Does it ever make you question the truth in your lies
To feel the icy coldness of Death creep upon you

Do you ever long to gather the stardust floating in the heavens
Touch the inky velvet of the sky
Take down the silvery moon and give it a kiss
For all its beauty
Does it ever make you weep, dark poet?
Caged in your eternal blackness with no name to cry but your own

I saw you standing, all alone
Like some frosty angel frozen in time
All forgotten, but your words still linger in the air
Chilling me
Do you long for me as I longed for you?

Pain has hollowed you out
Made your heart black and closed your eyes to the world
You sleep now, dark poet
But we remember you in your misery
And I still taste the sweetness of your promise

Does it make it ever make you weep, dark poet?
