a sultry evening picnic ground
of jungly lawn
melts
into the spanish landscape
where he rode
serape-clad
bathed in horse's sweat
-words flowing few & slow-
tall
strong
virtuous
brave
behind his sixgun,
ghost music rolling like cheatgrass tufts
across a stark & brutal world.
between
popcorn scented
soda-slick
frosty
darkened aisles,
a hundred fretful faces watched him chase
cruel craven villians
armed with fast car, big gun
& steely wit.
he was
a celluloid hero,
ulysses
before light-stealing lenses.
from the reverse side
of life-gathering lenses,
he orchestrates
sinuous moves
across a landscape
of
black/indigo
& silver
glittery new york streets
& life-fizzed clubs
boiling
with flashing
bebop notes
chasing each other
like joyful
fireflies.
on his chessboard screen
he shifts
black king, white pawns
in a story
where weakness is strength,
where the flash of a tiny needle
brings the mighty down
to helplessness
and death.
clint, unseen,
plays his most heroic role

Wow, Sugarboy, that was just great!
I too like Clint, and your many facet description of him, was really quite quant!
Where did you learn to write poetry like that?
I really enjoyed reading it as the pictures in my mind were drawn more clearly with each line.
