My devoted Dog, My best friend

Contributed by LOWMAN613 on Wednesday, 1st October 2003 @ 02:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: PetPoems

I know your only a dog,
but to me your much more,
I realized that when I helped you get out the door,
for your little legs got so weak one day,
so bad you could'nt get up to walk away,
You saw me crying in fear,
so you came up to wipe my tear,
The vet said you might need surgery,
If the pills were not doing the duty,
I have to help you walk outside,
each time I do I have cried,
just to see you in so much pain,
makes me want to go insane,
I just want my Fraiser back again,
the dog thats been my best friend,
You turned only 4 that day,
the day you could'nt run & play,
you hurt your spine, the doctor said,
you need to stay home in your bed,
You look so sad,but still you know,
I'm here to help,that I show,
you kiss my cheek,to say thank you,
for all I've done, like you knew,
was to help you get better,to play again,
my devoted dog,My best friend!

I've never had a pet, so I can't really relate, but I loved the poem anyways. Great job!
