The Death Noose

Contributed by HedderMarie on Wednesday, 1st October 2003 @ 09:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I miss feeling that noose around my neck,
To me these times were my best,
My life has had enough,
I'm constantly the diamond in the rough.
I hate feeling like the black sheep,
And the one that doesn't belong,
Constant altercations,
Which in the end make me wrong.
Tired of being hated for who I am,
I wish the noose would get tighter,
My lungs no more to expand.
Tired of trying to keep my feelings in,
My tears constantly feel like a sin,
I feel like a coward to cry,
And through all of the confrontations,
I wish I would have just died.
But it all comes back to the same situation,
Counting down the time,
On whether or not my life I should be erasing.
I cry out to Heaven to save me,
But no one answers my call,
A hang my head in defeat,
Too scared to end it all.
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking,
Six feet is too deep for my head,
So I gain control,
Through my tears I shed.
I know if I tighten that noose and take my last breath,
Peace I will find,
Through my sucidial death.
I'm already drowning in my misery,
The bright lights I can see,
But there too far away,
They'll never come to me.
So I sit here with this neverending desire to end it all,
I forget my thoughts and tighten the noose around my neck,
And feel myself fall.

Wow. That was rather emotional. You did an excellent job of channelling it all out. Great poem.
