Tainted Soul

Contributed by Saira on Wednesday, 1st October 2003 @ 01:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Like a newly bloomed flower in spring,
With each petal as pure and beauteous,
Oblivious of the predatory hands…
That reached out for her,
And swathed her innocence…
In a deceiving lace,
Leaving her soul tainted evermore…
………………………………………
Afraid of falling in love…
Scared of getting hurt,
But when he left her…
Alone in this bleak world,
She discovered in the sorrowful sea of tears…
The innocent foolishness of hers,
Love can never be imprisoned or…
Contrived,
It just happens,
You never come to know…
How…when…
But it just happens,
So it did happen…
……………………………………..
She smothered her emotions…
Became indifferent,
No more woe left to feel,
Just numbness…
No more tears left to wail,
Just emptiness…
Just she - an autumn leaf,
A stranger to herself.
………………………………………

Oh Siara,
How I loved this poem...it's so good to be able to read your beautiful poems again!
This one was exceptional.....followed it all the way....was very sad, and yet, is what happens everyday.
People are hurt, and turn their hearts off or to cold stone....the last two lines just said it all.
and autumn leaf, a stranger to herself! What a remarkable way to end this poem!
Marvelous Saira, just Marvelous!
ConSue

tainted souls , by God's mercy do recieve that much needed downpour that washes away all the unwanted grime, leaving behind a soul pure n fresh & ready to dream again, learning to give trust where it is much soughted & cherished. ----- kj (another crab;)
