demented flow

Contributed by arakrune on Tuesday, 30th September 2003 @ 05:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Understated movement in the dark
Wild moments on a lark
Strange people wandering through my home
Memories of green pacific foam

Words tossed about
Words that make people shout
Words that misrepresent
Words to make others vent

Convoluted thoughts rapid fire
Things that can start a fire
Spiraling actions that trigger
Snap judgments all the quicker

I sometimes just tire of humanity
As they continually try my sanity
Regardless of the contrivance
I continually see the other presence

Twisted deduction, for rationalization
So that that they may have grounds for rumination
It all just tires me to deal with such things
So many lost, so many that forgot how to make their souls sing

We teach dishonesty to the young
For we want them to feel the pressure of the same gun
I see the lost look in their eyes
As a small part of their soul dies

We trap ourselves in a continuous decent
We know the way out but we do not relent
Deeper we must go, on with this twisted show
It seems to be humanities demented flow

I couldn't really tune in to this poem until..............verse four.

I'm going to print out the rest and hang it on my desk.

What an accurate indictment of our culture

Brilliant write. A seed that will grow.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
