I saw the Canadian Geese
early this morn.
H@nking and bl@wing
each one a horn!
One chosen to take the lead,
in their "V" formation,
Courageous creed!
The wind was silent,
As I looked toward the sky.
Frozen clouds and me,
watched their wings go by......
Marvelous creations, Oh, My!
Like well-oiled machines,
Battalion of Marines.....
Encouraging, Encouraging
is their cry,
For their leader, their head guy.
See you next year,
'Til then.....listen.....
as we say our h@nk g@@dbye!
My heart felt heavy,
probably just the cold.
I could see my breath,
as their wings unfold.
"I'll be here next Spring,
I'll stand on this spot near,
you gallivant crew....you
Fly high, fly steady,
until your journey is through!
The southern states
await your wondrous flight.
Miracles, of Miracles,
Don't hurry, but don't tarry.
Even Miracles can't fly by night!
'Tis a curtain call
as they leave us all.
The last song of their dance
at a beautiful Summer Ball!

Cheri Cam LeBren
Last day of Sept 2003
In Illinois they flew so low,
Some would stop
on our lawn below.
They were so tame,
they'd waddle right over,
to h@nk, and
then call us by our
name!

This is so beautifully written
-------------------------------------
The migration of all creatures
Moving for life or money,
The to and the fro of populations
From the north to where it's sunny,
You have to ask, "Why do it?",
It's nature's way you think you're right
So birds and people rush around
Thousands take the flight.
Then, it's reversed as seasons change
matters not, be bird or man,
Back north they go like tick of clock,
This yearly caravan

We get the geese across our marshes
I've been trying to write their song
but now I've just read yours
I've decided mine's all wrong.
I like the clever crazy way
you've written down their chatter
I couldn't find a better way
but now it doesn't matter
