I must run and ask my wife
what is meant by half the strife
Why the sexes battle so,
Plain unsettled as they go.
Don't these yoyos understand,
If they have a love that's grand,
Please don't tell what troubles be,
Jump atop the honey tree.
If you don't, you'll never feel
a real compadre at the wheel,
The splendor of a rainbow arc
Will never yield a happy spark.
If you have it, keep it close
To do other, would be verbose,
Don't argue with any one or two
They just don't have your tested view.
The bottom line is, you're mature,
What they sell is pure manure,
You have what's real and thus you feel,
What others seek, a steady keel.

There need be no battle royal
Or a life filled with hard toil
If true love is there my friend
You can always work things out in the end

Dear Norm, right in form
I agree wholeheartedly
I had a love like that once
no need to spike the punch!
Many thought we were a bore
No heartache,no strife galore.
I'm so thankful it was serene,
Quietly he left,
but not the dream!
No regrets, no remorse
Picked up pieces
straight forward course.
No quilt, just understanding
from a love to wean!
I learned much from your poem Norm...as I always do. You are a very intelligent man...and picking your brain helps fill mine!

Wise words and true my dear old friend
The passing world doth sadden me
enough to send me "round the bend"
but here your verses gladden me.
The kids today "they've got it all"
or so they seem to think
but true emotion I recall
does not come in a drink.
They try to "sail the seven seas"
before they're twelve years old
and wonder why they come to grief
(no ballast in the hold)
