Attentive sentries wait to lower gate
to seal off side's south entry way from foes.
Portcullis' heavy gratings seen do mate
with moat bridge guarded by sharp pikes and bows.
Round tower close to side's south entry shows
the place where weapons, gear and shields are stored.
With polish bright equipment simply glows,
and these in great amounts Prince James doth hoard.
The gate's defended strongly by blunt mace and sword.
Prince James now stays with special retinue.
His high north keep is graced in wealthy ease.
All vunted stone works raised is James to view,
from moat to towers scene doth surely please.
The Great Hall's placed there close to orchard trees
where jesters show their motley clothes with pride.
At baquet times when merrymakers tease,
a raucous spirit's glee doth most abide.
This night they're toasting great Prince James and new soon bride.
