Thank you dear friend,
How very touching your email is.
I remember when my husband died,
It was his chair that lied.
Big comfy black leather.
Each night he would sit,
Gathering all his books by his side.
When he left, I'd view his chair from everywhere.
And each time I'd turn around,
knowing I'd see him there.....
His chair was empty....he was no where!
Finally after more than a million "look sees!"
I just decided there must be something
I could do, to bring my hurting heart ease.....
Then it suddenly dawned on me..... finally!
I'll make his chair that lies,
A truthful chair to surmize......
I'll change from my chair to his!
Then we won't see his empty chair,
that continues to tell us lies!
So that's what I did, and I was right,
for the change honestly did rid,
not only me, but his children 3.
of seeing his big black chair,
empty......just sitting there!

After 32 years
I can still
remember,
I'll try anything
so I don't have to
remain sad!

You have touched us all
--------------------------------------
I cannot know the widow's feel,
Yet I'm quite sure it's very real,
Man's point of view cries, "do not tarry,
If you're sad, well, why not marry?"
I have heard many things
about what the second brings,
Some are happy, some are sad,
Some even go so far as bad.
Even if this may be true
loneliness makes one awful blue
Take a chance and join the dance
Majority rules by show of hands...

hey connie if rearranging the chairs worked, i say why not redecorate the whole room, floors, walls, all of it, get all new furniture! i did that to our living room about a year after i lost dave and it was great, made it mine, and was then a happy room, other areas were for memories but the room i spent a lot of time is was for me and the kids, just my thoughts, care about you bunches, hugs n' love nessa xx |

Beautiful poem, beautiful story, beautiful Lady.
How can it be an empty one, this chair
When you're sitting on it, over there
Don't you see what this does mean?
He lives in you, has always been.
And don't feel lonely, we're all here for you
If you're not sure, I'll send you a clue. |
