One wish

Contributed by SuicidalSon on Sunday, 28th September 2003 @ 08:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

One wish, to turn back time
Back when, my youth was mine
Around ten, or maybe nine
Maybe then, I'd be just fine

One wish, I'll never get
No chance, not ever yet
This wish, I never met
This wish, makes me upset
--------------------------------------------------------------

Every body wants to go back
To when they were a kid
Say they'd tighten all the slack
The bad things they'd get rid
They would never smoke the crack
Or eat all the acid
But I know this for a fact
They'd do just what they did

Every body wants to change
All of what they've done
They say that they'd rearrange
Restart where they begun
Some things that they'd exchange
To have their life rerun
Well I sort of find this strange
I love all that I've done
--------------------------------------------------------------
One wish, you can not have
One wish, you make me laugh

No wish, is what we get
No wish, don't you forget

Great poem. By the way, I would hate to go back!

Oh wow...you are probably right with most people wanting to go back to change, but then we wouldn't be the person we are today, we'd probably make other mistakes...But yes your poem I could relate because I would go back only to take the hurt away, but probably going through it all again would kill me. And even if we go back to bring someone else back, they could just as well leave our lives again...the past is the past and the future is unpredictable...oh and by the way I love this write.
Take care.
Emma.
