Passion’s Game

Contributed by darkscorpio on Sunday, 28th September 2003 @ 08:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Sit upon my throne of hurt, broken will, shield in the dirt
Feeling torn, and feeling numb, afraid of what this will become
Nothing’s happened, but it could, this fight between evil and good
Get my thoughts out on this page, so I’m not trapped in a new cage
Path not chosen, moves not made, indecisive, will this fade?
Downward spiral falling fast, don’t know how long I will last
Many feelings so I have to say, what has made me feel this way
Here’s the story, sad but true, tell me what my heart should do…

Lying low, as I try to think, Heart in turmoil, mind does sink
New direction, away from love, bored stagnation from above
Torn between comfort and pain, Hidden feelings drive me insane
Wish I knew why I’m not the same
Make the first move in Passion’s game

As I start to fight inside, it’s time to make my soul decide
See my conscience sit and spin, control the urge, that’s deep within
Connection found, a different soul, lonely feeling took its toll
Neglected heart opened the door, for someone else to move in more
Exciting feelings rock my core, old connection I ignore
Make the move, am I to blame?
Cross the line in Passion’s game

Full of life, full of desire, soul awake, body’s on fire
When I look into your eyes, is it the key to my demise?
Hidden wants coming to bear, lustful thoughts, a new nightmare
Will I end up full of shame?
Endgame nearing, Passion’s game

Make the move, and regrets die, as I start to live a lie
Friends do ask, and foes do pry, what’s the answer, did you try?
Fall upon my sword, I try, protect you both, and now I die
Alone again, a sickening sigh, hearts are broken, start to cry
Broken vows, commit the crime
….No survivors, not this time

i truly like this; there is so much here. make the move, cross the line, end game nearing. comfort or pain - comfort to exist as is, or pain to follow your heart? trying to protect both, or to have both? i do like the way this moves, has me thinking. thanks for sharing, looking forward to more.
