Perfect Beauty – Revised
across hazy room
superficial pretty-boys
looking down
aimed fingers
perfect abs clutched
in soft-palmed hands
as perfect smiles
showing perfect teeth
let out
super model laughs
I turn away
another shot of liquid death
chased by fresh coffin nail
peripheral vision detects
pride of pride
coming closer
personal space
invaders bringing
elitist attitudes
to bear on target
sinking into
throbbing bass
musical buzz
as perfect boys
circle me
like beautiful lions
reciting memorized
lines used once
too often thinking
to myself
liberty of opinion
they have theirs
I have mine
will of choice
I can be better
and just ignore
freedom of speech
***** this *****
I express myself
not with elegant words
or witty retorts
a single explosion
of a fist broken
too many times
large knobby knuckles
colliding with perfection's
beautiful face
I turn away
another shot of liquid death
chased by fresh coffin nail
as vanity and pride realize
perfect beauty is not a shield
from the ugliness of the world
