Thie Beating Clock

Contributed by MyInspiration on Saturday, 27th September 2003 @ 02:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A thrown phone lies on my bed, resting in its final place, my grave of solitude. A lost heart lodged into my chest, with cold blood running through. Whispers of grievance are all that remain, I am lost. Misconceptions and speculation fill my head, dew forming a frost. A raining downpour from my eyes is all I can see, shut closed they remain, preventing the pain from reaching to deep. I must realize that not all is lost, but this clock works against me. A void remains in my heart that no clock can fill. The clock is gone; time is now my only riddle. How can I work this out? Can we make it work? I must give it a chance; I have to stop the hurt. Please give me your time of day; let me hold your hands. Let me kiss your lips, let me have the chance. Make this clock stop spinning so I can savor every minute I'm with you. Every minute we share lasts forever but it’s never enough. Please let me hold you, let me savor what feels so true.
