Waking up in Hell

Waking up in Hell

What is this place?
How did I get here?
A constant chill is running through me and shattering my spine,
Blood is trickling down my skin like the rain on windows,
I feel sick to the stomach as misery and agony surround me,
Skulls crush and crunch as I walk this disturbing land,
The blood stained walls are rotting just like the inhabitants of this place,
The rancid smell of rotting flesh and decay take over my blood,
The air is stale and the taste of death roams within it,
This place offers nothing but a life of pure evil,
All I can hear is the screaming of lost souls,
All I can see is eternal damnation,
Surely no one deserves this?
Then I understand,
This place of insanity is now my reality,
The Christ has sentenced me to this life of nightmares,
For in him I never believed,
How could I trust a promise of eternal life?
He's not a God but a mad man I thought,
Now I am stuck with eternal death and evil,
I take my place in this dark land,
Becoming a soldier in the army of the damned.

This was awesome I am really at a loss for words. I love the image of the skulls crunching under your feet.

hauntingly familiar!!!! awesome job...you tapped the feeling of damnation ..the evil energy we all posses within us...somewhere....the nightmares are the bridge to that side.....to awake and write is to burn that bridge.....your writing is amazing!!!

Well, wonderful poem I have to say
so deep and real - I know it well
I wish you saw the light of life
I wish you could feel alive
I wish you were not this soldier
I so much wish you to get over the border
of evil and darkness.....
Wishing you all the best, Dan..
