I wish I could tell you it would be alright
And I wish I could hold you in my arms all night
But I’m not sure that will happen, and I don’t think it will work
And I’m sure you’ll hate the aftermath, and think that I’m a jerk
I wish we could go, with this feeling
That’s woken me up, but has my mind reeling
I wish you could stay, in my arms all night
I wish I could assure you it would be alright
But it’s not, and it won’t, and we’ve got to stop this game
Of playing with emotions, cause we won’t be the same
Door unlocked, and emotions rush in
My head is swimming, because I want to give in
And kiss you long, and tender, and sweet, and get lost
Inside this emotion, but I know what’s the cost
I’m going to move on, and accept you’re my friend
Though I ache at the thought, cause I don’t want this to end
