The road is long
No distractions, no fear
I am alone in this desolate place
The sun beats down with an endless glare
A man can do so much with his life
So many people can help him along the way
But when he runs, none of that matters
It’s just him and the road
With the endless journey ahead
No one knows where his road will take him
But no matter the circumstances
It’s just him and the road
Step after step
He is free and clear to think anything
No one talks, no one listens
It’s just him and the road
The bad grade and that jerk at school
Leave his head in the blink of an eye
He speaks to the world with each stride
It’s just him and the road
Why can’t I get you off my mind?
Love’s supposed to be in the heart not my head
Is this true love or am I just thinking to much
I just want it to be me and the road

It seems as if running is a good exercise to clear your head. I just get tired and sweaty. I usually sing and growl to my music; I can just feel all my frustration seep out. . Anyway, you did an excellent job portraying the calmness of the road. Good job. |
