Stagnant breezes drift through our streets
Choking our children without mercy
Our chains rattle mournfully
Souls begging to be set free
But we cant hear over the screams
Each heart in agony
Wars destroy kingdoms and monuments long standing
We thought we were invincible
Fires spread, consuming the hope we left aside
Leaving it aside, we never needed it
Oh, are we so invincible?
Crying in fear beneath the covers
As shadows of death pass over our sleeping world
Are we asleep, asleep and dreaming
Waiting to awaken to the beautiful world
We so foolishly abuse
Are we asleep, asleep and screaming
For a heaven we have imagined
Some golden heaven
Our paradise we have, and we destroy
Stagnant breezes drift through our streets
Choking our children without mercy
When will we stop and see
Listen to our chains rattle mournfully
Souls begging to be set free
