The Burning Between

Contributed by Kalika on Thursday, 25th September 2003 @ 10:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

I sit rocking in an empty closet,
Softly pounding on the carpet with tight fists,
Goddess it hurts,
My hips feel the fire burning between them,
I don't understand,
How could the most useless part of my body,
Ache so??

As I rock I can feel the cancer,
Speading its poisen to the rest of my body,
Killing me slowly, painfully,
My mind knows nothing but the pain,
I can only hope my end will come more swiftly along.

The rocking applies pressure to my disease ridden hips,
Allowing me split seconds,
I can thing of something other than the pain,
I take full advantage,
Reaching for the Hibben I have dedicated for this purpose,
But the pain sears through me,
I resume my rocking once more.

I sit rocking in an empty closet,
Softly pounding on the carpet with tight fists.

Oh truly sad Kalika, I know that saying you will get over it won't mean a thing but I just hope that you will fill up all your days with meaningfulness and stay strong. Take care.
Love Emma.

this is a beautiful and heart wrenching piece...but it is born of such pain that i feel akward to compliment you for what you must suffer. i hope you will get stronger each day, both physically and spiritually. and thank you for sharing what has obviously caused you such pain, it is insightful and reminds me that i shouldn't take forgranted what is really a gift each day. m
