THE RING
What does it mean…this plain gold ring?
A thin band of gold such a simple thing.
But oh what a message with it does bring,
Tells the story of two…a unity they sing.
A never ending circle…goes round and round,
Two lives encircled…forever bound.
Two hearts as one…a new love found,
Such a small gold ring…the story astounds.
A symbol of unity for all to see,
A token of faithfulness never to flee.
A promise of fidelity forever to be,
A vow of devotion solemn and free.
Such a simple little ring…yet so complex in fact,
The fitting to a finger…such a simple act.
But it signals the beginning of a complex pact,
This union of two…the ring will enact.
A circle…a ring…a line without end,
A simple band yet complex…never to bend.
A silent vow…always to send,
Around two hearts…it will always defend.
