A Cardboard box,
A place to lay.
A crime filled alley,
A place to play.
A trash filled can,
A place to eat.
A ten year old,
In the streets.
A Daddy in jail,
At least he's warm.
A Momma's no longer,
In the way of harm.
A Child so fragile,
With eyes so old,
Won't ever know anything,
At least Not Cold.

It's sad and scary how true your poem rings. Very well written.*~ |

Some would say there are not enough to go round, a great reminder of what happens everyday.
