Cookies In The Jar
There were cookies in the jar,
My Grandma made for me.
Back in the day,
When I was maybe three.
We’d visit her on weekends,
I remember it being far.
When Dad got home from work,
We’d all jump in the car.
Down the road we went,
To Grandma house we go,
I’d watch her bake those cookies,
Lined up in a row.
She’d let me sample as they cooled,
As the rest went in the jar.
Then up on the shelve,
She placed the kinda far.
But when ever I would ask,
She’d fetch me one or two.
Oh how I loved her baking,
I think she already knew.
Those years have come and gone,
And it’s I, who drives the car.
As we head to my mothers,
And her famous cookie jar.
