I Wish That I Could Help You

Contributed by S_K_Williamson on Tuesday, 23rd September 2003 @ 04:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I wish that I could help you
wish that I could change the day
I would take you back before this
awful tragedy came to stay
I know you can't believe this
has happened for you too
Wish I had an answer
feel helpless...what to do

I wish that I could help you
make this a dream from which to wake
Take away harsh reality
your heart would never break
I do not have that power
though I wish with all my might
That I could grant that freedom
leave this horror from your sight

I wish that I could help you
and all who love you too
Their pain is always with them
and the fears they have for you
I'd wipe away the heartache
wrap and throw away the fears
Hold everyone so close
and wipe away their tears

I wish that I could help you
had something magical to say
I can only be right here
with prayers for you each day
You know that we love you
keep that knowledge in your heart
It is something you can count on
while we are kept apart
