And What If I Was, Would You Wonder?

Contributed by SeXyDrAgOn on Friday, 16th August 2002 @ 07:47:19 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

What would you do?
If I told you I lied?
If I told you I cried?
If tomorrow I died?
If I'm waiting on the other side?

If I told you I lied?
Would you wonder why?
If I told you I cried?
Would you wipe my eye?
If tomorrow I died?
Would you say good bye?
If I'm waiting on the other side?
Would you give it another try?

Would you wonder why?
Wonder, "Was the lie to hurt me?"
Would you wipe eye?
Wonder, "Was this what I could not see?"
Would you say good bye?
Wonder, "Was it not meant to be?"
Would you give it another try?
Wonder, "Was this our eternity?"

"Was the lie to hurt me?"
I once said that I was over you,
That I was now able to say good bye,
When really I even still love you,
And that was my hurtful lie,

"Was this what I could not see?"
You couldn't see what I didn't show,
I hid it behind my lie,
The truth I could never let you know,
This was my reason to cry,

"Was it not meant to be?"
I'll never love anyone like you,
With you gone, to all others, so am I,
My love is only meant for you,
This is how, this is why, I die,

"Was this our eternity?"
I will always love you,
Til death do us part,
But in death I still do,
And I wait my eternity, every beat of your heart

What would you say?
If I could only think of you?
If waiting was all I could do?
If my dreams were all that could get me through?
If my love for you was true?
What would you do?

I needed to read some powerful poetry yet with a hint of vulnerability and yet an in your face approach. I see i came to the right place. You've done more than your home work to say the least. And most certainly surpassed the point of muttering the art with an over abundance of craftsmenship. Simply put, i enjoyed discovering your artistic side that is second only to your display of life's experiences in which there seem's to be no shortage of pain as well as triumph. your a remarkable writter.
