Valentino's Angel

Contributed by merry on Sunday, 21st September 2003 @ 06:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Valentino kissed her mouth
Lips in need of loving he said
Dark eyes sparkling
He found her heart most willing
To bend to him
He wound her round
Took all she would give
Then took so much more from her
She wept at losing sense of self
Gave up dancing and painting portraits
Because Valentino said she should
And she did what Valentino said
She wilted in Valentino’s light
That shone on her too bright
Wasted away before his eyes
But he never wept for her
Said it was her fate to be
Valentino’s angel

I loved your poem Merry. It's known as complete possession...they ask you to give up everything, your family, your hobbies, music, reading, everything that is important to you and then they have you just where they want you, completely under their control. What a horrible place to be. I've been there. And it's so suttle, you don't even realize or know! Until it's too late.
Wonderful the way you put it Merry, I recognized immediately....then they go for your soul!
