Yesterday Ends Tomorrow

Contributed by Tanna on Saturday, 20th September 2003 @ 06:25:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

She writhes breathlessly to the dance of desire
Her blood is coursing, molten fire
Her heart is pounding, pulling her higher
But her eyes remain pools of brimming sorrow

Emotional stagnance has her enslaved
In rhythm to its emptiness is how she's behaved
Feeling far to lost to ever be saved
She realizes time is only hers to borrow

Her eyes cloud over with unshed tears
She bites back a sob and tucks away her fears
No one would guess in a million years
That she will end her yesterdays, tomorrow.

I really felt this poem inside and out. I loved your technique of rhyming aswell, stood out nicely. I especially liked the lines "Her heart is pounding, pulling her higher But her eyes remain pools of brimming sorrow" Very wonderful poem, Beautifully written.

Emotional stagnance... I loved that line. Beautifully, and poetically written.

I agree that this write is absolutely awesome in a sad way. Your words could fully pull my emotion out through the poem. You are decribing how quite a lot of people feel, and yet a lot of people do not know. Thank you for sharing this poem that I can relate to.
Take Care.
Emma.
