I just need you to hurt me now.
My anger has never come in such a rush.
I have come to know myself as a failure and nothing else.
Oh this pain I breathe deep.
I breathe more into my very soul,
Quick rapid breathes now.
My eyes are closed but I still see what is happening, as I live it everyday.
I feel the bruise as it makes its mark on my skin.
I feel the anger as I try to subdue it within.
I don’t avoid you because you’re only trying to destroy me,
But I am already destroyed and you took part in that already.
You pass me by and I hid the pain that you can physically see.
But you were there when it happened to me.
But you close your eyes to it because it is not happening to you.
I tried reaching out, you were the only one that knew.
But you ignored my requests, so I suffered alone.
I finally stood up against him and he laughed in my face.
The cut was nothing compared to what was to come.
Oh the charm you show to my friend!
My friend doesn’t even look at my tears,
She already knows what he has done.
My pain and aguish they have both won.
I look at my friend in discust,
I stood with such hate,
Defending and helping a friend is a must.
You’re as bad as him! Just not physically, it’s all emotional.
I’m physically sore, emotionally drained and so much I am pained.
The pain seeped through my veins as I cried.
I breathed what I knew,
I breathed deep and true, the pain that would live on although thoroughly I struggled.
Everything was too much and finally my heart and soul died.

*tears*. Powerful, painful, and beautiful all at the same time. Why is it our closest friends the ones who can hurt us the most (emotionally and physically). I wish you all the peace and serenity. Awesome poem!

well written, stand tall your anger is justified,
no one has the right to strike out at someone else and those that stand by and watch are just as guilty

It's times like these when we find out who our true friends are and she obviously wasn't a true friend. A true friend can stand up against an abuser with you, not take his side. A true friend would be here for you through the good times, and the hard times. I'm speaking of experience as you know. These people aren't worth any of your time. Go out there and find someone who really truly cares for you, not for anything else, just for you, because you are the one that is important here.
Now to the poem. I really liked it. I can relate to it so well, and yes, unfortunately this is so true in women and men. I know not alot of people like to admit it, but women abuse men just as much as men abuse women, I have seen it first hand. And of course women abuse women, men abuse men. It's a fight that no-one is winning, and I don't ever believe anyone will ever win. Not completly anyway. But you can win this fight. Just stand up for yourself, find your true friends and your meaning in life. If it means taking a holiday to do this, then do it. I know from experience that holidays can really help you to clear your head in times of need. Just don't let yourself be pushed around. Your soul is too kind and pure for this. Look after yourself, and if you ever need to talk about anything then message me. Now I'm gonna stop my ramblings now lol and go to bed. I look forward to seeing some more of your poems, hopefully ones saying you have pushed these two people to the backof your mind and you are moving on with your life :D
Oh and p.s. your heart and soul will never die, it is you, and as long as you fight, your heart and soul will aswell.

This is a good poem, emotional. I've lived through domestic violence, and i know how hard it can be to try to regain your life, i am still trying to tell myself that i am not the guilty one. Try to stay strong, and remember that you are better than any of them that didn't help.
Love and hope,

years ago, my cousin and husband spent a few days with our family when she divorced him, she told me that while at our house when we weren't home, he choked her and hit her arms, hit her head to the wall. she covered her bruises and hid this horror from us, when we would have helped her.
i have not been physically abused, so i won't insult you by saying i know just how you feel, other than i know you hurt.
it seems most abused women, cover the bruises the cuts, i'm sure for various reasons. i think it better to leave them uncovered. and when asked, tell how and who, and ask for help. i understand though, that reality can prevent someone for openly seeking help.
i think you are correct when you say the betrayal of your friend hurts you more. you can walk away from the other (i hope you do).
you are able to capture your feelings and write them...i was pulled in.
don't get rid of your heart and soul yet. write it out...that's you talking to yourself, not listening to your heart. read it till it becomes part of your strength (and you are stronger than you think). and, pardon me, i did not mean to go on this much. i wish you happiness. m |
