I look in the mirror
A girl stares back at me
Who is she?
Her gray eyes go straight through me
She is so hard to face
But I cannot elude her
And why do I want to?
Is that what she is asking?
I sigh and go to work
But she follows me
I saw her in my rearview mirror
And she was waiting on me when I arrived
"I'm listening...tell me your secrets!"
"LOOK IN YOUR HEART, LITTLE GIRL
THE THINGS YOU SEEK ARE THERE"
I slowly begin to realize my errors
I have been seeking answers
Yet, I never ask the right questions
She smiles as she sees my realization
I thank her quietly
"JUST PROMISE TO LISTEN"
I accept her wishes and they become my own
Peace washes over me as I walk away.
