My Imaginative Friend

Imaginative Friend
-----------------------------------------------------------

When I was a little boy, I had a friend so dear,
he was always there to take away my fear
who made me feel I was always so near.

I took him along wherever I went,
The memories that now remain without a dent.
I spoke about him to my Mom,
which made her think, where he came from.

He sat beside me during school,
he played with me in the pool.
People, Well, they always called me a Fool..
He stood by me whenever I fought,
never once did I give it a sensible thought.

Alas. one day he disappeared
just the way he had appeared.
He came to my mind just tonight,
and he told me, "Little Johnny, have a Good night"

I miss you so much, I screamed at him,
come back to me, I pleaded with him.
I'm now in tears, filled with my fears,
so lost and lonely, I wish he could come back,
I swear to him, I will be on the right track.

I can feel him now, though I never saw,
he always made me feel I was made without a flaw.
Grown up now, my tears dry,
my sense tell me its useless to try.

I had created him in my feeble mind,
He is someone I know I can never find!!

He served his purpose, then moved on.And thats okay because it shows you have grown stronger through the years whether you realise it or not :)
This really says how much you needed him....take care

I just loved your poem.I don't think you have really lived until you have a pookah....Norm taught me that....it means imaginary friend. I have one right now. Infact several of them...they are extensions of me...in my email I send pictures of them and funny ittle poems about them and their boyfriends, and their grandchildren....I just have a wonderful time. Some are funny, and others can be ornery....I hope never to be without my pookahs....they are so much fun. I just loved your poem. Never thought about writing about an imaginary friend. That was just great!
