Sweet Drifting Colors???

Contributed by alisialynn on Thursday, 18th September 2003 @ 07:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

You know how the street looks those nights, those nights
Ooh Those nights, when the colors, mmm they seep into each other
And the fog on the water it touches, it holds no colors and you hardly hold me anymore
And the world losing its colors to the night, it’s a sad a story
But, One I am more than willing to share
With you. I would share with you my secrets, if I had secrets and only this secret and I don’t have that now.

Now the sun began, it slipped behind the earth and it went to China to light up their world
And as I watched, I watched it disappear and I sat and thought myself that this is The World.

And I thought I had an epiphany as all these ideas they came to me
And I saw the shining star up above and I thought of you and love
And I thought about war
Ooh I thought about everything and all of the answers
The answers to our questions, they were mine. And I felt fine. I did feel the most very best way to feel fine, I did yesterday. I still feel that way today.

And now that I know these things, well see I don’t them, they’ve been forgotten but, I held onto their magic for just a minute and I still feel a little symbolic
And I still feel a little fine
And I still feel like the world is losing it’s color but, I’ll keep this just between you and me

Now if were to all be gray and there wasn’t anymore day, I see this in my future, mmm I think about you all time and you still retain your color don’t let it fade away. And all of these pretty colors, they make my day and yours and we will look at them and soak them up. That is my answer and now I look to these walls and I see that they are bare and plain

And wish to dress them up, like the night when we were together
And I felt that day as the sun went on my world and it soaked up all of the colors and gave them to some other place. I sit and I am thinking about this, don’t you think that that is very special, don’t you think it rocks the night
Don’t you love to dance in space?
And I really think that you should think more about love
And colors.
And the pretty, pretty colors that paint this world
And I, I am thinking only of this girl and I want her
World to shine

So when I think about the night, and it’s dark right now
I think about the sun and I wish it would come back
To shine on me

Do I want to look to the future? No, I don’t think I do.
And do I want to face my past? I only want to think of you.

And that day, that so soon the night stole from me.

The colors are drifting, and so am I. I want to move with them, hopefully I can keep foot
Hopping across these hot Coles. Pray for me and pray for these beautifully fading colors.

your writing is wonderful, your flow of thought and expression of your heart. this poem too, i feel i could live in. there is almost a familiarity and sense of comfort (cradling) with this; perhaps it's just the way your poem got me right away and carried me the whole way thru. take off the question marks...the title is good, i think. painted_echos
