Resilient

Topic: DarkPoetry

and i will cry...
though i haven't in awhile...
for something to hold onto
more than being someone's child.
and i won't lie...
speak the truth blunted style...
grab me off the office bed
can't transplant a shattered heart.

makeshift is undisputable
even though i can hardly see
placebo dangles on cuticles
this thing will pardon me

down it out it's bottoms up
another water glass to raise
i'll give a toast and drink from the cup
staggering vision fumbling in a daze

and i will try...
i know i haven't in awhile...
for some substance to claim
not just physical and wild.
and i won't die...
but eat fruit from the dial...
take me off from this net
it's not about to take any place.

makeshift is unreputable
even though i can hardly be
placebo dangles on cuticles
this thing will be the life of me

down it out it's bottoms up
another water glass to gaze
i'll give a toast and drink from the cup
staggering vision fumbling in a haze

this thing will be the life of me
that's okay for now
find in the while inside you'll see
it's nowhere to be found
okay it's time
this is the final line
and what we can expect is neglect
but this time it's down and out and bottom's up
another water glass to grace
i'll give a toast and drink from the cup
staggering vision fumbled in my face

Danny,

Ok, I have to admit I have tears in my eyes from the first verse... it's that powerful and this is definitely one of your best!

Was this about drinking? It was hard to decipher, but I liked it and it was well written nonetheless. I also loved the can't transplant a shattered heart line.

Dear Daniel,
I'm kind of new here Daniel....please excuse if you will.
You can transplant a shattered heart, dear.
They carry them for miles and miles for transplant.....however you have to have a receipiant! You have to be willing to accept it!
I'm so sorry you are leaving us! I was just getting to know you and your beautiful prose....Please won't you consider it one more time.....even if it doesn't rhyme!
Your poetry is excellent!
