Limerick No. 1

Contributed by aboutdesouffle on Wednesday, 17th September 2003 @ 03:25:00 PM in AEST
Topic: limericks

There once was a lady from Sproket
Who went into work on a rocket
The rocket when bang!
Her trousers went twang!
And blew up her lunch in her pocket

Thank you both for your kind comments. I don't think I will write anymore poems... I'll quit whilst I am ahead!

Best wishes

The limerick is not only funny, it meets the criteria of the form very well. The meter and rhyme are great. It has the last line 'hook' and reads smoothly ... as a limerick should.
Excellent example!
