Everything That Starts With A Smile Ends With A Tear

Contributed by MoonlitAngel on Thursday, 15th August 2002 @ 08:08:18 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I've had a lot of love
I've had a lot of break
And I'd never give up the memories
Because for a new beginning, there must be an end
And everything that starts with a smile
Eventually ends with a tear

All the happiness
Was worth all the pain
Because happiness is so rare and pure
I never want to forget a single gain or loss
I've never loved with less than all my heart
And that's something I'll carry with me

If at any point in time
It was something I wanted
Then it was worth it no matter what happened
Every bond has a place in my heart, every love
Because if something made me happy
I'm glad I had something worth crying over

I'll never give you up
Because I need you today
And I never would've given them up
Because once upon a time, then was what I called today
With my first love I experienced true love
With my first deep friendship I felt need

With change and loss came strength
I'll never have regrets
I've been hurt to all extents by love leaving
And I can never go back to who I was before
I fear things I once yearned to have
But that makes it sweeter when I give in

Thank you for loving me
Thank you for leaving me
Because of you I have so much to offer
I know firsthand how it feels to have your heart broken
Because you loved me less, I love them more
I'll never do to them what you did to me

Dee! O my goddess! This is so wonderful! Goddamnit, you made me cry! As I was reading your poem I realized how much it related to everything that's happened to me too. I think everyone can relate to it, but at the same time, it's so personally yours. I love it. Way to go!

Wow, Dee... This is amazing. It's so true to you. I agree with Jaime... Some of this can relate to others.... But, hey. That was in the past. No regrets cause whatever happened in the past made you the person you are today. And your an amazing person. You truly are.

Love always and forever,
~Em
