Slip Away

Contributed by sodapopsuicide on Wednesday, 17th September 2003 @ 01:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

He said
I'm leaving
& if you want
maybe
I could take you with me
maybe
we could fall
[together]

I watched you slip
slip slowly away
down
down
you slipped away
I watched you let go
of the ledge you hung onto
for so long
and I saw you fall

Now you're lying
motionless
at the bottom
I didn't let you
take me with you
why didn't I just go
it would've been easier
but I said no
[I'm sorry darling]

I watched you slip
slip slowly away
down
down
you slipped away
I watched you let go
of the ledge you hung onto
for so long
and I saw you fall

So now you're gone
and he thinks it's funny
but I said no
and I cried for you, dear
I wouldn't let him, dear
because I loved you, dear
please take me with you
[next time]

I watched you slip
slip slowly away
down
down
you slipped away
I watched you let go
of the ledge you hung onto
for so long
and I saw you fall ----->

Excelent write, though it rings in my head sadly. Great work
