Starshine

Opium houses
under fire from a mule.
tell me now, what’s a girl to do?
should i just cry like you know who
when you send me your firing squad?
boy, you make this really odd.
and i don’t quite yet understand
just what it means to be a man,
but hands under the table,
who says that i’m not able
to ride the fiercest horses?
let nature take its courses.
here are the crim’nal records
from when that brutus wrecked her
with tools from an erector,
so now i’m anarexor.
and now blasphemous rumours,
I feel like having tumours,
while deep beneath the sewers
the damned shall burn on skewers.
And he is such a romancer
and i’m all ate by cancer
and what i think is rotten,
no literally rotten.
so i’ll take death by chocolate
now baby, don’t you knock it
or i might have a mock fit
and blow up like a rocket.
here, meet the suicide kings.
they’re little men inside me.
and when they bring me slumber,
i can’t feel any dumber.
there’s nothing quite like sinning
‘cept synchronizing swimming
in the ol’ baptismal font.
where the yellow abductees
moan for the quaint essentials
while they all slowly fester,
some moaning more or lester.
that, my friends and detesters,
is the miracle of easter

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
