Tom Kei Man

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Born and bred
in a Willits bed
a simple man
followed a plan
he loved his gardens
easy with his pardons
loved so many
friends he had plenty
a quiet chap
with such a laugh
infectious joy
loved all his boys
one special girl
made his life twirl
honest and true
a day never blue
the shirt off his back
snubbed the rack
milk shakes and roller rinks
a Dad beyond the brink
pride and discipline
always knew where you'd been
a man of the road
carried more than his load
even with his mischevious ways
believed in family every day
easy middle child
just a little bit wild
the keeper of the peace
around him anger ceased
hard work and sweat
forgave every debt
a teacher that was sent
all his love he'd lent
fought tooth and nail
watched as others bailed
country music blared
in his truck and everywhere
flannel shirts and boots
his hats and his roots
the work he had was done
the labor no more fun
gone with Strawberry and Penny
their timing uncanny
living on in so many ways
there's a memory every day
always like a father to me
a kindred spirit I did see
you taught me to be patient with him
just your little boy swingin' on a limb
with a twinkled smile
you walked the mile
gave me reason to believe
under your patriarch I could cleave
thank you Tom Kei man
I know you understand
you blessed me with your son
and now your legacy lives on.

what a wonderful way of telling someone how they enriched your life.
Even helped you through trouble and strife.
But the last lines or your poem were like frosting on the cake....
Your husband was his son.....like him....n'er forsake....beautiful way of saying...thank you a "job well done!"
lovingcritters
Beautiful poem.....hope you save it!
