poison the well

Contributed by Cancer on Tuesday, 16th September 2003 @ 02:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

daddy loves his daughter
maybe a little too much
doesn't feel much like a daddy
with the ways he likes to touch
the little girl loves her daddy
and wants to make him happy
so she lies still, as he destroys
the woman she's yet to be
now all grown up, a daughter of her own
forced to turn away her head
trying to ignore her husband's late night visits
to their daughter's bed

poison the well
(contaminate all it touches)
infect and destroy
(nothing safe from the virus)
poison the well
(everyone is affected)
spread the disease
(cannot tell who is infected)

poison the well

a simple night of passion
with a stranger, unprotected
many more nights of passion pass
before the signs are detected
how many lovers did you send away
with a hidden reminder
who the hell did this to you?
doesn't matter now, you'll never find her
life unspun by one mistake
too late to go back and correct
you wonder how many lives you've ruined
once again, the poisoned well infects

poison the well
(contaminate all it touches)
infect and destroy
(nothing safe from the virus)
poison the well
(everyone is affected)
spread the disease
(cannot tell who is infected)

poison the well

"worthless little piece of *****"
mommy yells at her son
sometimes he feels he's all alone
but he's not the only one
to fall victim to the disease
of p*** poor parenting
another generation raised by hate
the disease just keeps on spreading

bobby's had too much to drink
but, he's too proud to call a cab
so he'll just swerve through the night
'til he sideswipes a mini-van
killing the balding soccer-dad
leaving two fatherless kids
bobby's car still works, and so he flees
never to pay for what he did

everything you say and do
affects someone other than you
self-centered prick, think before you "do"
'cuz you drink from that same well too

poison the well
(drowning in our gene-cess pool)
infect and destroy
(with the virus of life)
poison the well
(every life is tainted)
spread the disease
(we are all infected)

poison the well
