was it me?

Grief
|
Like a leaf caught in a whirlpool
I watched your downward spiral.
Time after countless time
I offered you my hand
only to have you slap it away.
Almost proud of your despair,
you closed yourself away
until you disappeared from me.
What should I have done?
Or was it something that I did
that drove your machine of pain?
Was it me at all?
Could this just have been
the enigmatic way
you wanted it to be?
In the end, you told me nothing
at all.

Oh wow I wish I had someone to offer their hand but I guess I'm a little like the person whom your describing because I haven't been able to let anyone help me because it feels like I deserve it, it's what I know. I'm sure it wasn't you, I'm sure they appriciated what you could've done. I know I would have. Thanks for sharing. I love it.
