Sunbeams play about sleepy eyes
Encouraging them to smile
Songbirds sweetness fills the morn
I lie and listen for a while
Stretching out my body
Turning on my side
Kicking off the covers
Then to my diary I confide:
Dear Diary,don't be sighing
For I've not opened you to write
Of all the tears I shed for him
Through my restless night
Instead I bring you happier thoughts
Ones I haven't had in some time
And though my night was restless
I did not soak this pillow of mine
Oh yes, my heart's still heavy
And sadness lingers close
But I've decided to start loving the one
Who needs my love the most
My children have the best of me
Above all others,they always will
But there's someone I've forgotten
Who has not received me still
It's me who needs my love dear friend
But I guess you've known this all along
Though never once did you criticise
You hoped one day I'd learn from wrong
I can't promise I've learnt my lesson
Nor will I ever cease to search
But from now on I'll try my best
To love myself a little first
And if one day I find a love
Someone who wants my heart
I will share my all,my everything
But from self love I'll not depart
So Dear Diary, how are you feeling
Are you glad your pages are still dry
Well get used to it my Dear old friend
For who needs tears??....Not I!!!
Time to rise and shine now
I must be on my way
I feel a need to just get out
And enjoy this summers day
Thank you my Dear Diary
For listening to my pen
And more secrets I will bring to you
When we next chat again

A great idea for a poem Sharon ... very touching ... and I hope you work things out for the best ... taking care of yourself first is something we tend to forget ... Jan |
