In the corners of my mind,dark shadows have their way
My age old friend depression has come for another stay
Though I fight the clawing demons,surging through my being
My will is smothered surely,cringing from the silent screaming
Shallow breaths escape me,one by one,I feel them leave
Oh how I wish I was of air,then freedom I'd acheive
I'm somewhere in the room,or am I at all at home??
I drop my shoulders,it doesn't matter,still I'm all alone
But wherever the darkness takes me,I will know the fall
I have been into its depths and back,many times before
Never will I ever succumb,to the rages of its fire
For underneath this darkness,lies a soul of bright desire
Though the colours now have faded,it will not be for long
Soon when all is over,I will return,with colours strong
Am I just deceiving myself,could this time be my last
That I am taken prisoner,and punished for mistakes of my past
All the hopes and smiles,that were brought about by spring
Lay shattered in this silence,where birds no longer sing
I feel so very tired now and so I will close my eyes
There is no hello today,but there is also no goodbyes
I will not give up,I will slap the face,of whatever seeks to steal my breath
For it is not any part of I,that will face it's bottomless pit of death
Soon when I am stronger,when my fight has found its second wind
I will stand victorious,as I do,time and time again
