Grief

My friend she looked so sad.
She told me that her friend died.
But died wouldn’t have been so bad,
She said as she cried.
He killed himself in his car,
He was only seventeen.
He suicided to go somewhere far,
He did it somewhere secluded so no one could intervene.
He had just got his life on track,
But he reasoned that life would once again get worse.
He didn’t want his life to go back to black,
So he was carried away by a hearse.
His sister asks ‘Hey mummy where has he gone?’
His mum puts a sign on his car ‘For Sale’
His sister asks ‘Hey mummy will he be long?’
She looks at her and the blood rushes from her face, so pale.
The car took ages to sell
But finally she sold
The memories she knew way too well
Until there was nothing there to hold.
She silently yelled at herself and screamed
All I have left of you is this note
At her eyes the tears teamed
She savoured every single word he wrote.
A few months later the little sister still doesn’t know why
Her life has never been the same
Her life is just passing her by,
She kept calling but her brother never came.
She grew angrier and she was just like him
Not knowing where to turn
Her sanity was on the rim
For death too she started to yearn.

Painful, yet beautiful. Suicide is one of the most painful deaths to deal with, especially when there seems to be no answers to why. Some people put their reasons out in the open, while others bottle it up inside until the only seemingly reasonable answer (in their mind) is death. I'm truly sorry for your loss, and I hope he and your frinds find peace in your hearts and souls. Wonderful poem! |

It's such a sad poem... but good write... Reminds me of a song entitled 'Stole' by Kelly Rownland (you should check out the lyrics/song if you haven't, great song!)
I just wish I could talk to that person who commited suicide and maybe try to change things. I really hate to hear people killing themselves. It saddens me a lot.
Anyway, again, good poem and thanks for your comments on my poem 'In My Secret Chamber'. |
