Namarie! (Farewell!)

Gasping for breath,
Trembling beneath a quivering shadow,
The sun has darkened, the stars are ever pale,
The moon has turned to dust blowing in a bitter breeze,
The mountain's root has been shaken by the brooding storm,
While the weak refuge in the strong and cunning.

The clouds gather in the east,
Ai! A' Roomen! The east!
Wherein lofty halls once lustered with gems,
Now tarnished forgotten beauty lying in death,
A' Anduune Tinwe! The Even Star! Where now does it lay?
Ai! The soft paleness of silver flame! It has faded and lies beneath the mountains.

The eternal flame of life is flickering,
A moment could change it's history,
While broken men fight for a future that is lost,
Their hearts are filled with anguish and dread,
Wisdom and knowledge flee away from them,
As they weep tears of sorrow suffering at their own hands.

They shield themselves with false smiles,
Wrapped in age old memories and tales,
Wanting to forget the looming darkness that is rising,
Yet they take up helm and blade and fight,
Hopelessly praying that life will triumph over death,
So they wander and travel beneath their fear.

I cannot tell the fate of mortal men,
I shall not tread where the boundaries end abruptly,
I will wander to Valinor and find rest in it's harbors,
Though I will diminish slowly I choose this path,
Open air with the salt of the sea tingling on my tongue,
Ai earen! Ah the sea! I will sail upon distant waters to my destiny.

Namarie! Namarie! Ilya tanya A' ista!

Farewell! Farewell! All that I know!
I will part and never meet again,
Seeking my peace in rolling hills and proud mountains,
The waters are still calmed by the storm,
So I set sail for the first and last time.

I loved that poem!! Well written definitly.
